It’s taken two weeks, but it’s finally over. I’m finally caught up on the 4″ stack of requisitions that have been sitting on my desk for the past 3 weeks. It’s definitely been an exhausting venture and I’m glad it’s over because it means I can actually work on something else. I have worked on a few other small things, but nothing of substance and I still have to complete variance reports for the month of April—May won’t close for another week or so. I think I’m finished with March, but because of the meds I was on, my brain is still a bit foggy and my memory is not quite as reliable as in the past. It is, however, getting better. There are actually days where I’m on the ball for the majority of the day.
When it comes to the variance reports, I’m still struggling with trying to get another administrator to realize that the managers and supervisors in my department do not now, nor have they ever, completed their own variance explanations. This is a task that has always fallen to the administrative staff. I delved into completing the reports Friday afternoon and was more than slightly disheartened by the fact that it took me two hours to complete one report. I have 16 more to go; if they all take that long, it’s going to be a very long week. I’m really hoping that it took that long because it’s a unit roll up (a culmination of the entire unit; all four teams).
As an aside, it’s been almost a month since my initial interview and a week and a half since my second interview, and I still haven’t heard anything. At this point, it is what it is and I’ll find out when they come to a decision. Like I’ve said before, it’s a win-win for me either way: if I get the job, that’s awesome and I’ll be thrilled, but if I don’t get it, I still have a job I love.
I couldn’t refrain from commenting. Exceptionally well written!
